Season 4, Episode 2: Creating a Sustainable Future through Smart Building Design

On season 4, episode 2 of the Build Better podcast, Anastasia welcomes Amin Najjar, CEO of Sustainable Buildings at Veolia North America. Veolia’s mission is to resource the world, helping its customers address their environmental and sustainability challenges in energy, water and waste. 

Najjar talks about how Veolia is helping companies improve energy efficiency, including upgrading the buildings in the city of Boston to achieve mandatory requirements that are fast approaching, and how these changes can have a lasting impact on the planet in the long term.

Amin Najjar leads Veolia North America’s Sustainable Buildings business. With over 20 years of experience in facilities and energy management, Amin is responsible for ensuring the business supports Veolia North America’s strategies of growth and innovation.

Prior to joining Veolia North America in 2021, Amin was based in Dubai, and covering Dubai & Northern Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey, as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Veolia’s Enova business, which he joined in 2014. With a strong focus on strategy and implementation, Amin led a portfolio of business activities of approximately $100 million using an approach focused on agile management, change management, continuous improvement and value creation. Before joining Enova, Amin was a key leader of operations, growth and strategy during the business expansion of MMG Facility Management across the region, holding top management positions in Lebanon, United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Amin earned a Master of Business Administration with a focus on management and finance from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP Business School) and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the American University of Beirut.
